Treatment for varicose veins includes conservative management, sclerotherapy, microphlebectomy, endovenous laser ablation, and ligation and stripping. The specific treatment is dependent on the severity of the varicose veins. Conservative management consists of wearing compression stockings, elevating the legs and taking oral anti-inflammatory medication. This therapy may reduce the symptom of varicose veins but it will not eliminate the underlying cause. Endovenous laser treatment eliminates varicose veins permanently, which is done in our office. |
